Privacy

• The film file you upload.
• Your e-mail address.
• The file’s name, size and the price tier you paid for (your order record).
• If you arrived from one of our ads, the ad and search term that brought you here (kept only if you start a checkout).
• If you ask for the free sample DCP: your name and e-mail address, and whether you ticked the box asking for occasional tips on festivals and DCPs.

To build your DCP, deliver it to you and keep a record of the order (for support, refunds and bookkeeping). For orders that came from one of our ads, to know which ad worked.

Your film is built with ffmpeg, DCP-o-matic and Clairmeta on hardware we own. No AI service, ever.

• Your film and your finished DCP package are stored on Cloudflare R2, in North America.
• Payment is handled by Stripe, and your card details stay with Stripe.
• Order e-mails, and the e-mail with your sample link, are sent through Resend.

• The master file (what you uploaded): deleted within 8 days of upload.
• Your finished package: your download link works for 30 days, and we keep the package for up to 60 days after delivery. If you buy hosting, the link works until the hosting ends, and the package is deleted up to 90 days after that. Anyone holding the link can use it, so share it only with the festivals and venues that need it.
• Your order record (e-mail, file name, size, tier paid): kept 90 days. If you buy hosting, a copy is kept for as long as we keep the package.

Every e-mail we send is about your own order or the sample you asked for: your upload link, its progress, your download link, and reminders before that link expires. The download link and reminder e-mails include an offer to keep the link working for a year, for a fee.

• What we collect for the sample: your name and e-mail address, and whether you ticked the box asking for occasional tips on festivals and DCPs.
• Why: to e-mail you the link to the sample. If you ticked the box, we also send you occasional tips on festivals and DCPs. If you didn’t tick it, we send you the link and nothing else.
• Where it is kept: on our storage with Cloudflare R2, and the link e-mail is sent through Resend, a US company.
• How long we keep it: if you didn’t tick the box, we delete your name and e-mail 60 days after you ask for the sample. If you ticked the box, we keep them until you unsubscribe.
• Unsubscribing or deleting your information: to have your information deleted, or to see what we hold, e-mail hello@shortfilmdcp.com.
